Riot unveils Riftbound's 2027 tournament programme: Ladder Points, a London Continental, Nexus Cups and the Challenge Series.
On 26 October, Riot laid out Riftbound's 2027 tournament programme: a ranked ladder, four Continentals and new events at local game stores. The details are in two official articles on Premier Play and Local Play, and Riot says not everything is final yet.
What's changing
- Ranked ladder: every competitive event awards Ladder Points based on where you finish. They add up to a rank from Aspirant to Platinum, and Gold and Platinum players get to buy Regional and Continental badges before everyone else.
- 2027 Continentals: Dallas, Melbourne, London and Toronto, which makes London the big one for Europe.
- Challenge Series: events at selected stores that award Ladder Points. The winner gets a token for a Regional.
- Nexus Cup: a new per-set store event about being the local champion and earning promos, not qualifying. It replaces Summoner Skirmish.
- Leftover byes: unused Summoner Skirmish byes can be used at any 2027 Regional or swapped for a promo.
- It all starts with the Legacy set, and stores should list the events in the coming weeks.
More events, more cards to find
When every result counts, a lot of players will be at their store more often, and there's usually one card still missing from the deck. On binderly.cards you put your binder online and find cards from players near you. You see the actual card first, chat, and meet in person, for example at the store right before the event. No shipping, no fees, no private addresses, and it's free to use.
Heading to a Regional or to London? Your personal QR code shows your trade cards, so your binder can stay shut.
