PSA heist: 6,451 graded items stolen from a FedEx truck

Thieves took 6,451 customer items from a truck outside PSA's California facility, nearly half of them Pokémon. What we know and how to ship less.

On 13 October 2026, thieves broke into a FedEx truck outside grading company PSA's facility in Santa Ana, California, and took 6,451 customer items. PSA confirmed the count in an update on 23 October.

The facts

  • According to PSA, FedEx had already picked the orders up from its facility. Police told ABC News that two full pallets and part of a third were taken, with an early estimate of about $963,000.
  • PSA has now published every stolen item with its certification number. Those certs are deactivated, and the list has gone to marketplaces and auction houses.
  • Santa Ana police and the FBI are investigating. No arrests have been announced.
  • A tally by Cardboard Police finds that almost half the entries are Pokémon cards, followed by a large block of One Piece and a handful of Yu-Gi-Oh!, Lorcana and Magic cards.
  • PSA says affected customers get their grading fees back plus compensation, and can choose the card over the money if it turns up later.

Show your collection, know your collection

On binderly.cards you put your cards into a digital binder and show your collection to other players. That same binder is a card-by-card record, with images, of what you own. PSA could say exactly what was taken because every item was logged. A binder you keep up to date does the same job for your own cards.

Fewer cards in the mail

Grading usually means shipping. Deals between players often don't have to. binderly.cards lets you find cards from players near you, message them in the chat and look at the actual cards in their binder before you meet up in person. No private addresses are shown, and it's free, with no fees.

None of this makes cards theft-proof. It just means your cards spend less time sitting in a parcel.
