Four suspects were arrested in Tokyo over a card shop robbery, and police in Dorset are searching for stolen Pokémon cards.
Tokyo police arrested four men on 28 October on suspicion of robbing a card shop in the Ikebukuro district on New Year's Eve 2025. The same day, police in Dorset, England, asked the public for help finding stolen Pokémon cards.
Tokyo: 14 cards taken from a display case
According to Sankei and NHK, the robbers entered the shop posing as customers, smashed a display case with a hammer and took 14 Pokémon cards worth around 26.9 million yen in total. The owner was assaulted during the robbery. Police say one of the arrested men told them he signed up after seeing a post on social media. The investigation is ongoing.
Dorset: a series of house burglaries
Between 30 September and 11 October, several homes in West Moors were broken into while the occupants were away. Dorset Police say jewellery, cash, a safe and Pokémon cards worth about £10,000 were taken. Officers have released images of the cards and want to hear from anyone who has been offered them or seen them for sale.
What binderly.cards does differently
binderly.cards can't stop break-ins. It does help in two specific ways:
- Your digital binder shows your cards online and doubles as a record of what you own. If something goes missing, you already have a list with pictures, much like the images Dorset Police have now had to publish themselves.
- Your private address is never shown. You find cards from players near you, sort things out in chat and meet in person, for example at your local store's next tournament.
It's free to use, and binderly.cards charges no fees.
